NYC Songstress performs with Ireland's Andy White.

Rachael Sage
As singer-songwriter Rachael Sage prepares to kick off her upcoming European tour in support of the global release of her critically acclaimed record Delancey Street, she returns to one of NYC's best listening rooms Rockwood Stage 2 on Tuesday, April 12th at 7:30 PM, to offer her hometown fans a taste of the show she'll be bringing oversears this Spring . Joining Sage on the bill is singer-songwriter & author Andy White from Belfast, Northern Ireland, who is in the States celebrating the US release of his new album Songwriter. Sage and White developed a great friendship during Sage's recent tour of the UK and Ireland.

"a fresh intimacy... at the core of Delancey Street is a heartfelt quality that goes beyond intellectual exercise." iTunes Review

"*****...crystalline vocals and untamed craftsmanship." - Maverick (UK)

Andy White is not only a fantastic singer-songwriter and guitarist, but he's also the writer of one of Rachael's favorite books, "21st Century Troubadour," as well as an accomplished poet. White is in the US to celebrate the release of his tenth studio album "Songwriter" slated for release on Judy Collins' Wildflower Records. The Irish Times calls his music a "recession-beating slice of (wary) optimism."

Both celebrated poets, Sage and White will prepare some special collaborations specifically for the occasion. Rachael will also be playing plenty of new material as well as selections from her first poetry book "Karma's Trapeze" and her second volume of poems, "Since You Asked".

Delancey Street

About Rachael Sage & 'Delancey Street':

Self-taught pianist, poet and producer Rachael Sage radiates what MOJO Magazine calls "warm, intelligent...New York indie charm". An innovative, improvisational keyboardist, she performs over 150 dates a year throughout North America, Europe and Asia. In 2009, Sage's sold-out holiday show at New York's Joe's Pub was recommended as a "Top Pick" by both the New York Daily News and Time Out, and in 2010 The Wall Street Journal chose to profile her in support of her new album Delancey Street. This past summer, Sage returned to the world's largest arts festival, Edinburgh Fringe, where she performed a 2 week-long run of her show "Stop Me If I'm Kvetching..." to rave reviews.

Named one of the Top 100 Independent Artist Of The Past 15 Years by Performing Songwriter magazine, Sage has shared the stage with Marc Cohn, Ani DiFranco, Colin Hay, The Animals, Shawn Colvin and Judy Collins. A Grand Prize Winner in the John Lennon Songwriting Contest as well as a two-time Independent Music Award and OUTMusic Award winner, Rachael recently released her 9th album, Delancey Street. Described as an "album about change", the record features eleven orginal compositions, plus inspired covers of Hall & Oates' classic 'Rich Girl', as well as Sage's understated rendition of 'Fame'. A musical exploration of identity and cultural heritage, Delancey Street is in stores now and available on iTunes & Amazon.

Early ink on 'Delancey Street':

"excellent" - M Music & Musicians Magazine

"Rachael Sage has molded and shaped a sound beyond a mere current-day singer/songwriter, into a true soothsayer and storyteller...Four-Stars for 'Delancey Street.'" - All Music Guide

"...eloquent execution... genuine and compelling." - BLURT Magazine

"Sage's tightest and most personal offering to date." - Connecticut Post

"Her music is getting better with every release" - The Deli Magazine

"Emotionally riveting songs underpinned by lush melodies, inventive arrangements and a flair for the dramatic." - Columbia Free-Times

"Track after track, she delivers one-of-a-kind indie, artsty songs with a sequin shine, which gives every one of her 12 songs decorative brilliance." - Campus Circle
