A WISH FOR FIRE: Marking 7 years as a band, having released two EPs and one full length to date; veteran Boston alt. rockers A Wish For Fire continue to attack the Boston local music scene with their raw, aggressive, yet melodic sound. Fronted by the unsettled and longing character of singer and guitarist Owen Beane, A Wish For Fire writes tumultuous songs held together with powerful drumming by Anthony Mellace, rock solid bass lines by Dan Lewis and agitated, distant, distraught guitars by Mike Sepavich. Together, they defy conventional structure and blend calm, sometimes chaotic pieces with smooth, sometimes gritty vocals. The Cambridge-based group is promoting their latest effort Sight Unseen (self-released). Their latest was recorded at Time Bomb Studios in Somerville, MA and engineered and mixed by David Adam Monroe. Mastered at New Alliance East, Sight Unseen is a three year audio scrap book created during trying and joyous times in A Wish For Fire's member's lives. The record will be dedicated to the guitar player's late Mother who was a big fan and supporter of the band and considered the fifth member.

Sight Unseen will be available for download on iTunes, emusic, Rhapsody and Napster and other popular download sites on September 18, 2010.

"Raw and powerful, yet with a canny knack for melody is a great way to describe [A Wish For Fire]. The band hits hard... complete with juicy guitar riffs, meaty hooks, and skillfully pounded percussive rhythms." - The Noise
