Chris Massey is fast becoming one of the most talked about new faces in jazz today. Not only is he being heralded by such noted publications as Downbeat, All About Jazz, Jazzreview.com and various others as being a new force in jazz drumming but also as a prolific composer as well being compared to Jeff "Tain" Watts, Brian Blade, and Wayne Shorter.

His latest album "Vibrainium" has received numerous positive reviews from a variety of esteemed press sources and is breaking through the jazz radio charts. He has recently joined the artist roster for the Spectra Jazz label.

This is an excerpt from Spectra's press release:

The album is currently available on the Spectra Jazz artist website download area and will be available digitally on iTunes and Amazon during September - with a physical release December 2010.

The CD (produced by Massey), features a masterful collective of musicians he calls the "Nue Jazz Project" and has already received rave reviews from jazz critics and reviewers for it's innovative composition and energy.

Personnel include: Evgeny Lebedev (piano), David Ostrem (bass), Benjamin Drazen (Alto/Soprano Saxophones) and Donald Malloy (Trumpet) and Chris Massey (drums)
