Tasha Taylor Continues Her Father's Musical Legacy With The Release Of Taylormade Cd

TAYLORMADE, a collection of remarkable songs by Tasha Taylor, the talented youngest daughter of Stax R&B icon, Johnnie Taylor, will be released June 14 on Sing Records. In addition to performing the soulful vocals that highlight her expressive and commanding voice, Ms. Taylor took on all the writing and arranging duties, producing the CD with Noisy Neighbors' Rob Arbittier and Gary Adante (Songs In The Key of Life), and Stuart Benjamin ("Ray").

First to radio in April is the ballad "Queen," with an indelible Tasha vocal that puts her in company with the most eloquent women of soul. A pre-release Holiday sneak preview of "Merry Christmas Baby" was featured prominently on Sirius Radio's "Bluesville" satellite program, Dallas' KKDA and Los Angeles' KJLH, and was named Clear Channel's New! Artist to Watch.

TAYLORMADE'S personal collection of thirteen songs were written with the traditional R&B and Soul that she grew up with in mind. "The concept for this album has been percolating for years," Tasha explains. "The longer I performed some of these songs, the more the spirit of my father infused my work, so TAYLORMADE is for my dad and the legacy of the music that he gave me."

Included on the album, the kick-off jam is a funky duet by Taylor and Taylor-daughter Tasha with father Johnnie "The Wailer"-reprising Johnnie's first million-selling Stax Records' hit, "Who's Making Love," (originally released by Johnnie in 1968). An accompanying video with a special technologically included "guest" appearance by a very "vintage" Johnnie is now available for viewing on YouTube (YouTube - Broadcast Yourself. /watch?v=8tI3qLdXt84).

Most evocative of Tasha's essence on the album are the sexy ballads, "Refund." "Somebody," and "Queen," in addition to mid-tempo vamps "Wonder Woman," and "Sexy Lady." The musicianship behind her soulful vocals is immaculate, providing the perfect setting for these instant R&B classics. Award-winning bassist Nathan Watts was musical director of the impeccable tracks which feature Tasha Taylor on lead, background vocals, guitars and keys; Kerry Griffin on drums; Kyle Bolden and Jon Taylor on guitar, Rahn Coleman, Roman Johnson, Rob Arbittier and Mike Finnigan on keys, Kevin Ricard on percussion; and Joey Berkley, Zane Musa, Stephan Baxter, Nolan Shaheed, Brian Pareschi and Gerard Carelli on horns.

The talented Taylor is also an accomplished actor who saves the legacy of her father's church with the help of three spritely lady spirits and a very handy man in the indie film "Heaven Ain't Hard to Find," just released to DVD.

TAYLORMADE is now available worldwide at physical and digital locations including Amazon.com, CDBaby and iTunes on June 14, 2011.
