The longest part of recording

What is the longest part of recording for you?
This includes everything like getting everything setup, writing it, recording it again to improve it from the times before. Even optimizing it after with all the special affects.

2 months ago me and a friend did a 4 hour jam, witch we recorded.

i still have it somewhere, the plan was to cut parts out of it and start new songs with it for another jam, but due to lack of time we havent done this so far
So with warming up, and all of that it was a 5-6 hour recording,
think we also recorded the talk with the crowd after ?

5-6 Hours I don't think I could stay awake that long focusing on that.
It's werid taking a break then comming back the next day working on it since ideas change, thoughts change.
