"One of the things that's changed at AC Mastering is my clients. They're not interested in attended sessions and they're not close by, but they're very computer savvy. They're the small labels and indie musicians and they'll take the mastering sample I do and put it up against 5 other engineers. There's no room for being second best," says Adrian Carr, mastering engineer and owner of AC Mastering. Carr has created a new type of CD Mastering Business. "The music business has changed, and AC Mastering has changed to match the needs of the clients. Although musicians may be recording in their home, they've found that great mastering doesn't come from a plugin." Adrian ran his CD mastering facility in Midtown Manhattan for 15 years until relocating in 2007. Today, he uses his Heavy Vinyl™ Mastering as one of his tools to give clients that fat analog sound of vinyl in the digital domain.
